WE ARE THE FUTURE!, the global interdisciplinary artist collective, label, and event series, proudly announces the release of its first Various Artists compilation: GLITCHES B!TCHES CLUB — a 9-track transmission beamed from the cutting edge of club culture. Featuring a boundary-blurring lineup of femme and non-binary producers from NYC, LA, Toronto, and Veracruz, Mexico, this compilation is both a dancefloor weapon and a philosophical proposition: What if the glitch wasn’t a flaw, but a feminist strategy for survival?

Traversing the emotional terrain between electronic dance music and cybernetic noise, each track channels the spirit of sonic cyberfeminism, a framework that disrupts binary thinking, resists optimization, and makes space for multiplicity, mutation, and mess. This isn’t music for passive listening—it’s a manifesto in motion.

What is Sonic Cyberfeminism?

Sonic Cyberfeminisms is an ongoing multi-modal interdisciplinary project combining theoretical reflection and creative practice, led by Annie Goh and Marie Thompson and in collaboration with a collective of artists, musicians and writers. It draws upon intersectional feminist praxis and the legacies of cyberfeminism and aims to foreground agendas of social justice in the domains of sound, gender and technology and, in doing so, develop critical cultural work.

Legacy Russell's "Glitch Feminism"

In 2013, Legacy Russell coined the term Glitch Feminism and began producing scholarship surrounding this socio-techno construct of gender and sexuality. The glitch is often dismissed as an error, a faulty overlaying, but, as Legacy Russell shows, liberation can be found within the fissures between gender, technology and the body that it creates. The glitch offers the opportunity for us to perform and transform ourselves in an infinite variety of identities. In Glitch Feminism, Russell makes a series of radical demands through memoir, art and critical theory, and the work of contemporary artists who have travelled through the glitch in their work.
